USS Blueback Game

Sound Identification Game

for Oregon Museum of Science and Industry

This game hangs in the queueing area for tours of the USS Blueback, a real diesel submarine floating right outside the museum. Upon grabbing one of the attached earphones, a magnetic sensor is tripped and visitors will hear one of eight sounds that one might encounter while monitoring sonar. An LED clock around the border starts counting down, indicating the time left to guess which object made the sound with the corresponding button. Right answers will light the button green, wrong will light red. My work for this involved coding the game on an Arduino microcontroller, interacting with the WAV Shield for sound triggering, and wire management in a very narrow cabinet. Also, editing shrimp sounds!
